Gabriel Reyna is founding partner at Bandera Capital, an independent Private Equity & Venture Capital firm and one of Australia’s leading investors in climate tech. With offices in Sydney, Australia and Austin, Texas, Bandera invests across the climate capital stack with a renewed focus on the Texas market.
Gabriel is an experienced executive, entrepreneur and investor passionate about building enduring businesses that leverage capitalism to do good in the world. His background is in corporate development and project finance spanning the Energy, Power and Water sectors globally where he was actively involved in over $3bn in developments and M&A transactions for Downer (ASX:DOW), AJ Lucas Group (ASX:AJL), Jacobs (NYS:J), and their major development partners.
Prior to Bandera, Gabriel was a technology entrepreneur in the fintech and financial services industry, most recently co-founding and growing a global venture studio that was later sold to Simble.
Gabriel is originally from South Texas and a fourth-generation landowner with a family background in farming, ranching and land stewardship. He holds degrees in Mathematics, Engineering and Finance from Texas State University and the New York Institute of Finance. Gabriel lives in Austin with his wife and daughter and enjoys the outdoors, music, and field/farm-to-table food adventures.
Gabriel is currently a Board Member at RELA Australia, Texas State CEIDAR and the Texas Alternatives Foundation, and is active in building a more vibrant ecosystem for energy and climate-tech in Austin and Texas more broadly.

development (multiple countries) and entrepreneurship (President, RedLeaf Biologics).
He holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in chemical engineering from Stanford and Columbia University respectively, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
